How I started

“Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you” ⁃ Oprah Winfrey

I started with a small business of events styling in 2016. I enjoyed doing events backdrops, party deco for friends and clients. I would say that I always have this fascination to make anything look beautiful. Flowers, colours – they are life to me!

I decided to venture into a smaller scale business of floristry because after two years, I realised that events styling requires so much work, energy and time. It took a toll on me given my other responsibilities. And so the idea of doing floral arrangements came to me. I told myself I wouldn’t want to stop developing my creativity and working with pretty things.

The recent pandemic helped open the opportunity for me to offer floral arrangements online. I took up floristry workshops online to hone my skills. So in 2021, I started crafting flower arrangements for friends in church and there were times that I just offered them at a small cost or even no cost at all. I was just having fun doing it. Much to my surprise I started getting more orders, from friends of my friends. I eventually gained loyalty and trust from my clients inside and outside church.

I started by managing everything by myself, from purchasing to marketing, book-keeping, photography, social media content creation and administration. I would sometimes deliver the orders myself, all while being the only florist! “Instagram” was my very first social media touchpoint. It has practically became my portfolio. I had to learn to engage influencers and to post content in Instagram, which in the beginning was not really my cup of tea.

I had to slowly learn the ropes all by myself but I’m thankful for my family who is mainly behind a lot of wonderful ideas and encouragement. I happily take each day of orders as they come. I enjoy it so much! What is more interesting is that I am blessed to be part of other people’s special events and moments.

I love flowers! I love exercising my creativity. It brings such a smile on my face when my clients are happy with their customised bouquets. Many of them come back to me for more orders and it makes my heart throb with joy.
